Radware expands its Cloud security solution with Advance Bot Mitigation Technology

We are very pleased to announce that The Chesapeake Group has advised ShieldSquare, a pioneer in advanced bot mitigation solutions, on its sale to Radware Ltd. (NASDAQ: RDWR).

Headquartered in Bangalore, India, ShieldSquare is one of the market leaders in the Bot Mitigation industry – recognized by the likes of Gartner, Forrester and Frost & Sullivan. The company provides a SaaS based, application security solution to Enterprise customers to protect the latter’s platforms from Bots and other forms of automated attacks. The company has grown rapidly over the last few years, raising multiple rounds of funding from marquee investors such as Endiya Partners, Start-Up Xceed and RPG Ventures.

Radware Ltd. is a global leader in cybersecurity and application delivery solutions with more than 12,500 enterprise and carrier customers. ShieldSquare’s powerful solution will enhance their existing attack mitigation product suite to create the industry’s most advanced protection from emerging and automated attacks. “This acquisition allows us to expand our portfolio with robust bot management solutions that strongly fit our strategic goal to continue and deepen our integrated portfolio, organically and inorganically. Bot management can stand alone as product offerings as well as integrate into our suite of attack mitigation solutions” said Roy Zisapel, Radware CEO. “We chose ShieldSquare because of their strong technology synergy, advanced machine learning capabilities, and the opportunity to expand Radware’s existing cloud security services. These Bot-Management services along with Radware’s Cloud WAF services offer comprehensive protection of applications. We are excited to welcome the ShieldSquare team into the Radware family.” – Quote from Radware’s press release.

“ShieldSquare has reached global leadership position in Bot Mitigation space in a short span of time. Radware is the ideal partner to help us take the business and product into its next phase of growth” said Pavan Thatha, CEO and Co-Founder of ShieldSquare. “We are also extremely grateful to all our team members who have supported us over the years to help build a truly global business.” The transaction highlights the maturity of Indian Enterprise Software ecosystem, and the ability of Indian entrepreneurs to create globally recognized companies and provide exits to investors at attractive returns. In 2018, the Enterprise Software space accounted for c.20% of the 118 M&A exits in the Indian start-up space (Source: Inc42).

On working with Chesapeake, Pavan commented, "The Chesapeake team has been super helpful in helping us navigate the process involved in the acquisition. Their experience in global cross-border transactions is unparalleled and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking at global M&A."
